My first ever professional illustration job! Goblin SWAT Team. Back in 2003 I met a Magic art director at a #SDCC portfolio review and landed my first commission. I am sure I had heard of #magicthegathering from doing some industry research but had no clue what the game entailed.

I had not planned on going this clean with the line art for the Weirdwood books but kept with it curious to see what would happen. I hoped the extra time put in would save me time elsewhere, and it did.

Tireless Tracker. I’d like to say I go all out and buy numerous expensive props when shooting references for an illustration, but I don’t. A Wiffle ball bat is my favorite prop of choice!
