In writing my previous post, it occurred to me how in the short years of its existence, the Dreamcast became something of an unwitting sanctuary for games expressing profound ecological concerns, perhaps more so than even the esteemed and long-lived Super Famicom.
Rieko Kodama's work is vast and varied. Many of my childhood references were designed, directed or produced by her. To celebrate her legacy, I choose the Mark III adventure 'Hoshi wo Sagashite'. Though set in the same universe as Phantasy Star, the visual style is quite unique.
