Finally, the rule doesn't seem to apply to reptilian characters like Yoshi... or K. Rool! Banjo also evaded the changes, keeping his original number of digits in Ultimate. Maybe it's due to him being considered a Western guest character. Maybe they both just hate golf! 10/10

Yes, Rare updated ALL of the Diddy Kong Racing DS cast to have five fingers per hand. Apparently golfing fingers also make for great driving gloves. It's not clear if this was an edict by Nintendo or just them being careful, but the characters seemed eager to show it off! 9/10

Rare themselves would get to reflect the new designs in the renders they created for 2007's Diddy Kong Racing DS, the final Donkey Kong game they would develop. I guess Diddy also bought those prosthetics for his girlfriend and her family... and his Timber's Island buddies. 8/10

The rule of thumb(s) was that the "gorilla" Kongs would have five fingers per hand, while other Kongs, usually the "monkeys," would have four. This mostly pertains to Diddy and most of Dixie's family. (Chunky has the proportions of a gorilla but the features of a monkey). 3/10

Does anyone else worry about the integrity of Dixie Kong's knees since she removed the pads? Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 are great because I know her cartilage is being protected, yet I wince whenever she takes damage in Tropical Freeze.

@Nintendo, please think of Dixie's knees.
