Today I'm writing about François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters' marvellous city Blossfeldstadt in their graphic novel 'The Shadow of a Man'. Its skyscrapers are inspired by the photographs of magnified plant stems and leaves in Karl Blossfeldt's 1928 book 'Unformen der Kunst'

Today I'm writing about elephants and architecture. Perhaps it's their association with strength and power that have made them a popular choice for eccentric if mostly unbuilt architectural projects. This is Charles-Francois Ribart's unexecuted 1758 monument to Louis XV.
