'Drawing For Fun'
When you want to be left alone in your study but annoying mercenaries are banging on your keep's door, cast the 2nd Level Dungeons & Dragons Magic-user's spell for some peace and quiet.
Stinking Cloud
11" X 8.25" Watercolor Pencil and Chalk on Toned Paper
Another drawing inspired by Iceland, the amazing waterfalls, waves hammering the beaches of Vík í Mýrdal, and my love of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth.
The waters of the sea consumes the grand civilization.
Downfall of Númenor

Latest installment in 'Drawing For Fun.'
Inspired by our recent visit to Iceland and the geothermal activity.

Foto Fridays. Photographing completed work comes at the end of the week these days. A great way to bring closure to a painting and relax into the weekend.
Latest Middle-earth epic landscape from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings:
The Walls of Moria
48" x 48" Oil on Panel
Hobbit on the mind.
Bilbo and the Dwarves wandering through Mirkwood, stumble into the feast of the Wood-elves, who are not so delighted in the party crashers!
Light of the Wood-elves
12" x 9" Graphite on Archival Polyester Paper
A new image from Middle-earth. A pleasure to pay homage to the original source material, J.R.R. Tolkien's ink drawing from The Hobbit.
The Lonely Mountain
14" x 17" graphite painting on archival polyester paper
New Art for Magic:The Gathering's Kaldheim Set
Pact of the Serpent
14" x 18" Oil on Panel 2020
The art description called for a 'few hands' shaking in contract. I couldn't resist the chance to portray the feel of a larger clan by cramming as many hands reasonably possible.
War of Wrath
12" x 9" graphite painting
Alternative sketch to what is on the drafting table this week, an interpretation from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Silmarillion.
