Zia is a travelling cleric who persisted past her premature demise by "being too busy to worry about being dead" and to look after her apprentice Penumbra (Penny for short)

As Chuuseuk came to a close, I wanted to do a little something-something for the last day

Someone sent this set of expressions from that Tom n Jerry Willy Wonka movie, and it occurred to me that this is superb expression practice for mischievous characters, Jacoba here for demonstration

To specify, the later reprinting of this book I came across had THIS cover, and the synopsis preceding the story begins with:

"Johnny gasped in terror-the man had no eyes. Streaks of blood ran down from empty black sockets. 'They took my eyes,' the man moaned."
