Turns out that harassing her was part of his, uh, cover story, and she's "sorry [she] didn't cooperate" ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew (x infinity)
She starts writing Larry a Dear John letter, then goes to Michael's office to bring him the aforementioned charlotte russe. Which, after this scene, justly gets thrown at him, and she goes home to Larry.
Linda's not excited about Peter, she's excited about Cal, and she and her friend Marni are both excited about their college's annual "Catch a Man" race, which is basically a sexier Sadie Hawkins race.
Fisticuffs are usually more the province of Charlton's romance comics, but both of those punches are in DC's Heart Throbs #145. One's in the cover story, "The Show Off," which seems to have been inked by Tony DeZuniga. Here's its central conflict:
Alascia inks Nicky Zann on this issue's cover story, "Let the Teardrops Fall." Its relationship attitudes are very '72 in some ways, and also very '40s in some ways.
Happy 60th birthday to these two! (Also to the costumed version of Ant-Man, who might be in these panels as well, just, you know, very small.)
The intersection of @ajjacobs' piece on this week's @CBSSunday and mine:
"Take Me In Your Arms" is reworked from "Love Me Again" from 1965's Young Romance #136. John Romita drew the original version; I think I see Dick Giordano's hand in the redrawn faces/hairstyles/fashions? Weirdly, "Simon" is now "Ralph."
