My heterosexual roommate from college knows to send me stuff like this as he makes his way through old Marvel. They’re apparently Emma Frost’s goons and the homoeroticism is appropriately simmering.
This one is actually a twofer, because I got into the 1979 Nintendo game Sheriff, how it has Nintendo's first named characters, and how its damsel in distress (Lady, like in Donkey Kong) is the first female Nintendo character.
I would say ol' Neinhalt is the most random character introduced in the game — and that is including the fact that Samurai Shodown VI has a guy who is... if not *actually* Andrew Jackson, then something coming very close to Andrew Jackson.
I'm not saying Toad is a looker anyway, but there is an unused sprite of him in the code for Super Mario Bros. 3 that is just... pitifully ugly. I mean, look at him.
And a big thanks to both of the translators I'm working with on this project, @saffronapplepie and @apricotsushi, but in this case Fatimah was able to lend extra help on how to discuss exactly what kind of stereotypes Imajin and his family are.
@Jimbo3DC @GameHistoryOrg I dunno. I think he's more laidback nowadays.
Whelp, just got to *that* episode in my King of the Hill watch-through while making dinner
And this guy, who seems more like a Romancing Saga character than a Street Fighter character, but you know what? Weird Capcom is the best Capcom
