Western studios don't look at anime as something to strive for on our end. We just want them to stop making their own stuff and get under our boots again.

I wish Storyboard Pro had a means of doing a textured vector brush like this that doesn't require the stamp tool so we can get a solid vector shape. The stamp gives us several individual shapes, and that makes the software chug.
If the convention of staging scenes so that characters moving from west to east to indicate story progression were true, we'd be completely turned off by anime because progress in Japanese media goes from east to west.
