For me: I have to content myself with Carol as she is and as she may one day be.

In recent years with the character having so many chances to be on the page, she has begun to develop again. I am hopeful.

She's expanded a great legacy and made it better. She will find her way.

She showed up. Did a superhero thing and then was sacrificed for the sake of the story.

She had agency. Yes, she had a choice. She chose to sacrifice herself for people she loved and a world she had failed.

But why is it every time a Captain Marvel finds themselves, they die?

She was Captain Marvel to me for the first time. She had found peace. She was the warrior past war.

She is a defender of the weak, using only the force necessary to solve the problem.

I got that visceral chill. The Captain I was waiting for. No more pretenders to the throne.

I find her a bully. Used to pushing when she should be listening. See: Civil War II. The less said, the better.

I was prepared to write Carol off as a character. She would appear, be abrasive, rub someone the wrong way, apologize and do something heroic.

She rarely grew.

In the end, space heroes prevailed. Two words for you: #StarWars. Now space heroes are hotter than fish grease.

#CaptainMarvel got a movie.

Not my hero. Carol Danvers. A character I admit to not liking very much. I blame the writers. Carol is a great character.

IT'S TIME FOR A BIT OF COMIC MADNESS....

Name a comic legacy that was wasted more than once.

In the case of #CaptainMarvel, The House of Ideas threw away a great character in Mar-Vell. (Says me.)

Then squandered his legacy at least twice with #MonicaRambeau and #CarolDanvers.

@chescaleigh There is nothing wrong with doing that. If a word comes to you through inspiration, but you aren't quite sure it's the word you need, then look it up.

Then look up every word related to it until the sumptuous feast you have fought for appears before you.
