Took the opportunity to start a run of Pokémon Africanvs, which takes place during the Second Punic War. Already in the first 30 min I was blown away by the love put into this game.

The Hades II trailer is great not only for more Olympian thirst traps, but also for a frog!
In Aristophanes' The Frogs, Dionysos goes down into the underworld to search for Euripides. The chorus is made up of (ghost?) frogs who sing Βρεκεκεκὲξ κοὰξ κοάξ (Brekekekex Koax Koax).

First up is the Chroma recreation of the so-called Alexander Sarcophagus. Note the royal scene painted *inside* the Persian soldier’s shield as he lifts it up to deflect a blow.

Took a break from writing to do one of my favorite activities: slide creation and formatting. Looking forward to discussing the treatment of provenance, the antiquities trade, the use of ruins and remains, and more within the game mechanics of Pokémon later this year.

For today, a Hellenistic or Roman terracotta lamp in the shape of a camel. The cute factor is heightened for me since he resembles Numel, furthering my theory of the usage of this pokémon in the Ptolemaic army.

I am absolutely in love with these renditions of the Olympians in the game Hades by Supergiant Games. Some of my favorites: Dionysus (easily my favorite modern take on him), Athena, Demeter, and Hermes.
