And I managed to find a way to fix the weird interpolation in Sharp mode by setting the device to 720p instead of 1080p. It does the rest of the scale/crop in OBS, similar to what I do for Retro AVS. Some uneven+rectangular pixels in the scaled output, but no more blurry pixels!
swamp scribble. 15 colors, just sort of messing with colors, didn't really have a strong sense of how the whole image would go together. playing with a vaguely-painterly look and figuring out shading+outlining. it could be fun to take this and clean-up/redraw potentially.
I like the large contrast between the in-game sprite for the demons, hand-animated ones, and the Reboot-lookin' 3D render version of them lol
Being an earlier PS1 game, Star Ocean 2 doesn't have a ton of FMV cutscenes. But, when it does, it has this weird arbitrary mixture of CG and hand-drawn animation, interspersed with its in-game stuff.
more adjustments, bigger + more stars, better looking doorway, better crystals, fix a few things to follow 2-color per 8x1 limitations, bunch of other details.
took an old zx-style frog mockup I did and made an msx-style one from it.
Mega Man 6 had some nice background art with interesting color choices
Tweaked the background so the monsters could get framed better in the scene, tweaked the monster sprites to look ok when flipped/rotated, improved the frog knight's pose, came up with silly names for the enemies.
I mocked up a little battle scene! Made some monster art, and dropped in the character sprites over an older background I did.
