We actually supplied the toys for the Capcom characters, so we were limited to those that had figures with good articulation. Mega Man and Roll were both Kotobukiya model kits. Ryu and Chun Li were...NECA, maybe? I honestly can't recall; we just had them lying around the office.
Here's the final WIP version before it got killed. It was a parody of the Street Fighter 2 US box art. Marvel just didn't like the way Hulk was being portrayed, and didn't see any compromise. Ah well!
(P.S. That's actually Shadow Lady in the art, not Chun-Li! Real MvC OGs know.)
These were, in my very biased opinion, some of the coolest pieces of marketing art ever made!
(We did have to make one major change to Mega Man, because his original face looked a little too goofy.)
Whenever I see #dreamisoverparty trending, I just think about him...
Reminiscing on the time some random mobile card game completely stole my soul for its artwork.
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! Just reminiscing on how I managed to convince everyone back when I was working on Darkstalkers Resurrection to release this Simpsons/Darkstalkers parody card as a goof!
@0jenzee0 I won't post the Hades screenshot for obvious reasons, but I just have to know...was this the inspiration for *that* moment?
This one's a deep cut (in more ways than one). https://t.co/U3rYztdyYR
