I think Alan Lee’s illustrations for The Lord of the Rings are amongst the greatest ever made. His imagery is now fused with Tolkien’s words in the consciousness of generations of obsessed readers. Surely that is the greatest achievement you can attain in book illustration

My illustration for Mark Samuels terrifying weird tale In Honour of Chemosh. ‘the foul reptilian hordes were dragging him down through that carefully concealed entrance and to the great, slimy vaults in which had been reared the secret altar to Chemosh, the god of Moab.’

Close to finishing up work on a children’s book by Sophie Stewart. It’s a time-slip story inspired by the Pendle Witches, particularly old mother Demdyke. Really enjoyed working on this little tale about children and the power of imagination
