Yoshitaka Amano is so amazing. I used to obsess over his drawings of Terra when I was a kid. His "candy girl" series is also EXTREMELY influential to me
Dick Bruna is also iconic to me. I really love Sanrio/little mascot characters but before that we must acknowledge the humble Miffy
Mia Ikumi did some fantastic work on Tokyo Mew Mew! Tokyo Mew Mew was my first magical girl series and I absolutely loved it. Very formative series
Keita Takahashi is another huge inspiration. I really loved playing katamari when I was a kid, it really appealed to my curiosity i think. Takahashi's work is always so interesting and cute!
back at it! another favorite is Manbou no Ane/Tsukasa Ryugu, she did the PV illustrations for a lot of my favorite vocaloid songs! her work is so vibrant and fun
Louis Wain is another favorite of mine! people mostly talk about his abstract work (which is great!) but I love the anthropomorphic scenes the most i think! every cat has major sailor boy with lolly energy
Yurie Sekiya is artist I've been obsessed with since my tumblr days... the eyes are so striking and beautiful! a great mix of retro and modern
Konami Sonoda is one of my biggest inspirations ever. I read Chocomimi as a kid and it was very formative, the fashion spreads especially! the art is so unique and there's such an attention to detail... there's really nothing else quite like it to me
mikus are for monday (and tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday, and sunday)
