Sprucing up my portfolio and online presence lately to better reflect the sort of trad-digital (?) style I'm having fun with these days - so it was time for a bit of a portrait redraw :)
Most of my work this year has been illustrating books and colouring comics that won't be out for a while yet, but I did get moments here and there to draw for fun :) #2021artroundup
every time I try to sketch in my sketchbook I remember that I really need to get more than like 5 coloured pencils
I like the idea of a 4,000 or so year old bristlecone pine dryad. Old Lady Methuselah, creaking and cracking her way over the mountains
@GaryPanton Hi! Sounds fun! I'd be interested, have worked on books for that age range before :) https://t.co/bO3067pS2K
I've finally set myself up with a proper website at https://t.co/dqC0qbUbYx so please contact me there for any illustration work enquiries! I'll be keeping it updated with availability and recent work :)
Lockdown has me illustrating romanticised versions of staring out the window like a princess in a tower
Bit by bit putting together a new portfolio with a looser, more picture-book oriented style. Not that I dislike working on middle-grade, but I'm finally trying to aim for joy in drawing, and it turns out that means cute magical things and not trying so hard to be perfect :)
Upload attempt #2...maybe this will make twitter not crop out 2/3rds of the image? Anyway I really like how this turned out, I've been messing around with getting a coloured pencil look digitally for a while now and I think I'm finally getting there
every once in a while I get a hankering to draw the kind of thing my 8 year old self would go gaga for
