Then there’s Bill Sienkiewicz on MOON KNIGHT over the course of 30ish issues. He started off heavily inspired by Neil Adams, but eventually discovered himself.
Another famous example was Barry Windsor Smith over the course of 24 issues of Conan. He went from a Jack Kirby clone to his own unique style, which many artists would eventually clone.
By the way, the first volume of HEART ATTACK is out in shops today. I'm pretty proud of it!
My goal with these pages was to use the panel borders as figurative walls between the characters. Although they're physically close, they aren't emotionally close yet. It's not until they've both opened up to each other that I allowed them to be in the same panel together.

I drew these almost 5 years ago. I still hope to revisit this project one day.
