& this wonderful book also has the Joe Versus the Volcano screenplay in it, which i could read every day forever. (here’s the scene that’s been my twitter banner for years, and which i have hanging in my room, painted by @brianna_ashby)
@mattzollerseitz @aHeartOfGould still unreal that the same filmmaker made these movies back to back.
@AriAster @RealGDT Oh...god yes. What a double bill! @studiotstella could do the artwork for it
@evandamaral @briannazigs the fact that both scorsese & tarantino consider it one of their favorite movies should be enough to get every film geek on the planet to give it a shot, but alas...
@rachsyme It didn’t get much attention, since it’s about a film (based on a brilliant play) that not many have seen, but I wrote about psychology, defense mechanisms, John Donne, Emma Thompson, death, and what really matters in 2015 & it still means a lot to me: https://t.co/cv7R4jdEF6
15 years ago today, quite possibly my single favorite movie (& certainly the one I’ve watched the most, learning new things about it every single time) was released. It means the world to me, and I tried my best to capture that for @BWDR https://t.co/FfOd0EGzu2
Thankfully, one of the other best film artists out there, @studiotstella, agreee to step in during her absence, and has continually blown us away
The following month was a new experience for me, as we focused an entire issue on Studio Ghibli, and I let others take the lead, because I (stupidly) had only seen two Ghibli films. But putting the issue together convinced me to see a lot more. & @brianna_ashby's art was perfect.
