I started from John's initial concept, an entanglement of bodies, entwined and distorted, increasing their number and the overall mass. The addition of knives transforms this scene - almost intimate, very organic - into a deadly embrace.
I've been dumping WIPs for 12 days on this one. (It takes a long time to sculpt all this mess!)
So here are 4 more for the "big steps" of the thing :)

Sculpting bodies from scratch is 50% fun 50% pure pain. 
Some WIPs steps for this sculpture. 
So now I'm finishing the details, adding a background and finishing the whole thing. The funny thing is that it all started from a mistake that cut the torso in half.
