I’m always hours late to catch up on #kidlitart’s weekly chat, but it’s still a treat. Writing and illustrating can be lonely, and finding a creative community makes it less echoey. This month they threw down a #kidlitart28 challenge. Here are a few of mine.

Day 17: Today is gingerbread house day at the library. Since you can't eat glitter, Jules decides she will cover her house with SPRINKLES! #beaandjules #illo_advent #illo_advent2018 #kidlitart

Day 14! Cookies, by Charlie: Grab a raisin in each hand. Put one raisin on the cookie. Put the other in your mouth. Repeat till your mouth's too full, your cookie runs out of room, or Jules makes you stop. #beaandjules #illo_advent2018 #rosemadder #colour_collective #illo_advent

Day 8: Bea and Jules are Secret Angels. They send eachother “secret” notes every day. “Have a good day! From, your Secret Angel.” Also they send things like: jokes, glitter, a rock from the parking lot, more glitter. #beaandjules #illo_advent #illo_advent2018 #kidlitart

Day 8: Bea still really wants snow. Jules, too! So they gather up glue, clean jars, & a few dollhouse toys. Bea glues toys inside each jar. Don't forget glitter! Close the lids, shake, shake shake...snow globe! #beaandjules #illo_advent #illo_advent2018

Day 5: Tree hunt. Gran had a fake tree last year, and Jules is pretty sure a real, fresh tree will make Gran feel better. Uncle Moony isn't convinced, but Jules is good at arguing. What do you think Gran did when they brought home the tree? #illo_advent #illo_advent2018

Day 4: Bea really, really wants it to snow, so she gets out paper &scissors. Snip. Paper wedges drift to the floor. almost like snow. The hardest part is knowing when to stop cutting. Maybe Bea's snowflakes will give the sky a hint! #illo_advent #illoadvent2018 #kidlitart
