I finally watched When Marnie Was There (2014), by Studio Ghibli. I enjoyed this film, it's a touching story of self-discovery and imagination and Marnie herself is a sympathetic character.

Dianna's ball dress/gown was inspired by Tomino. The "X"-shaped design represents her desire to be free, bound by responsibility, and feather ornaments were popular in the Victorian-era.
