eren doesn’t know what a monkey is so he repeated it as さる (saru) basically he couldn’t use the kanji version bc he doesn’t know what it means
kanjis give unique meaning to words
chap 22 is called ”me and myself“in EN
in JP they wrote it as ”watashi to watashi”, they used the kanji version in the first part and then hiragana
私 in kanji holds more meaning than わたし
it highlights how confused senti was towards her false self ”dark fu hua“ & her real self
it’s the way senti calls herself ”senti” instead of ”herrscher of sentience” or ”hua”
she’s finally acknowledging her unique personality traits, she’s learning to be someone unique and not ”the real fu hua“
