Rendering those scales really was something i did grow on in terms of shading <3

The model is for my animation study project, which has to be fully retopo'd, textured, rigged and animated soon-ish. Idk anymore if i'm going to make it in time XD

It's still in the early sculpting phase of the head, as i just started it today.
But damn, it's extremely hard to really get into ZBrush D:

Personal portrait piece i've been working on for an eternity now :D
Tried another approach to handpainting all those scales here. For the curious: There are about 1700+ individual scales in there (Photoshop has ways to automatically count those)

Sneak peek of the rendering for one of the portrait sketches i did lately. Feel like i'm disovering the power of proper hard edges combined with smooth surfaces right now :'D
