Almost there I think, I've really been struggling with the texture of the bristol board. It seems very granular and picks up the lead if anything too well, I'll have to try again but start with harder leaded pencils. #kingfisher #drawing

The slow march of progress as I battle with the varied directions of the fur.

Here's the finished work, as mentioned before it was commissioned by a client who wanted a local animal by a local artist. I used a light wash of #watercolour and built up layers of #gouache to get the fur to shine. A welcome break in to colour from my #graphite obsessed world.

Todays #inktober. It was fun to work my way through some different techniques and play around with the medium.

A pleasant break from pencil drawing with a #digital #painting, nice to play with colour for a change.
