For #FairytaleTuesday, here's a different take on Beauty and the Beast by Spanish artist Pep Brocal.

Legend says a Lady in White haunts Montmorency Falls near Quebec City. Mathilde and Louis were deeply in love, but when Louis was killed in the Battle of Beauport in 1759, the inconsolable Mathilde donned her wedding dress and threw herself over the falls.

Legendary hunter Dalbec was in the woods one spring making maple sugar when a bear came by. Dalbec hid inside an empty barrel and, at the right moment, grabbed its tail. It ran off, carrying Dalbec and the barrel with it.

"The Mitten" is a Ukrainian folktale about a lost mitten and the various forest creatures who decide to make it their home. In some tellings the mitten bursts, but in others the animals leave and the owner recovers his lost garment.
