Happy Birthday #JMWTurner. Born #OnThisDay in 1775 🎂
🎨 Turner enjoyed watercolours for their quick-drying ability to record the effects of fleeting light. They were also more portable than oils, which aided Turner in his travels around the UK and Europe.
Odilon Redon was born #OnThisDay in 1840🎨
During his early career, he worked almost exclusively in charcoal and lithography, before abandoning this medium after 1900 in favour of oils and pastels.
