Sometimes, my ideas on how to portray flavor interactions come from pop culture. Other times, they're actually unintentional - in this case, I'd honestly forgotten about The Prestige entirely (commenters didn't though!). Subconscious inspiration, or coincidence...?

I've always loved previews, but even more so since starting this account. Today's reruns were from MH2 season - but EVERY set brings so many new ideas! (Hopefully, my using preview cards as soon as I can doesn't result in unwanted spoilers for too many...)

My parents know very little about MTG, but will still call me on occasion and ask me to explain the latest drawing, just because they like to hear about my creative hobby.

What I'm trying to say is, they're wonderful and I love them both very much

The Eldrazi titans also show up semi-regularly - unsurprisingly, unstoppable cosmic horrors make pretty great material for many flavor interactions.

I have no explanation for why I designed Emrakul with an OwO face except that it just felt right, somehow

Marit Lage is the first of a few recurring characters. The running gag of Fog Bank as her "companion" was actually unintentional at first - I drew a cloud as a watering can, but someone interpreted it as the two becoming friends, and the joke stuck
