Inaria is a shallow water thingy that lived 550 million years ago. Its fossils have been found in Australia and Russia. It's a ~mysterious~ creature but paleontologists suspect it might be related to corals and jellyfishes. #FossilFriday

We think of vampire squids as deep red, but they can also be black! In fact, the name Vampyroteuthis infernalis — literally means "vampire squid from the infernal depths" — was aptly given to this jet-black squishy thingy with demonic red eyes.
