I hope this will help you understand why the KOF community is really excited about this team. Their original reveal on the plot and the fight againt them is legenday, their gameplay is unique and interesting, and they come with a "new", and very iconic, outfit from KOF98 ending.

The team we are going to have in KOFXV is the true form of these characters, meaning that they will have powers and gameplay related to their elementary abilities (earth, thunder, fire). They will play totally different than the ones we already have in the game.

Surprisingly this new team reveals its "true face" at the end of the KOF97 story, revealing themselves as 3 of the 4 Orochi Heavenly Kings, and reveal their true power/gameplay:

Yashiro: Power of earth (grappler)
Shermie: Power of thunder (zonner)
Chris: Power of fire (shoto)

Among the new created characters, there was a team, called "New Face Team". New Face Team was a music band holding a grudge against Iori Yagami. They enter the tournament to get a revenge on him.

Yashiro : Powerfull brawler
Shermie : Sexy grappler
Chris : Fast striking kid
