I had this book in middle school. It really was a stepping stone into drawing the way I wanted to, as the artist really WAS into the style as opposed to some other Western attempts/cash grab books

I actually recall redoing an old art from the MikoPan days to reflect the new version of their friendship. It's like...both an art evolution but also character evolution?
That picture sparked the SachiMiko chemistry like fire. Pan became less interested in Miko, too, but it was hard to convey that to the fans at the time. She was still good friends with these two! That shy aspect of her was also fading...(yeah Miko tried dating a guy once lol)
..which is funny because Sachiko actually had a thing for Miko, too! But these particular feelings kept getting pushed aside due to followers shipping the other two and also Leigh feeling like Sachiko was getting left out as the sole not-shipping kid
