Holocaust survivor Zdenka Fantlova. When she and her lover Arno were together in Terezin, in 1942 he gave her on the last occasion she saw him – a handmade #TheTinRing for their engagement and to keep her safe until they met again. Sadly, Arno was sent east and never seen again.
Renee Salt survived Auschwitz-Birkenau before being taken to Bergen-Belsen with her mother. After many years of suffering, they were liberated on 15th April 1945 by the British Army. However Renee’s mother sadly died in hospital 12 days later. #HMD2020 #NeverForget
