One of the reasons I love vol 7 is how realistic it hendles Depression. Depression isn't something you can just overcome, it's something you carry with you for a long time, even more if you don't get help. Just slight setbacks are enough to let you fall into a downward spiral.

Tbh people that still only see rudeus as "30-40 year old dude" shouldn't Continue watching. This is not bc of different Interpretation or me saying you are wrong but bc the series does not treat him like that. Starting with the arcs around vol 6-8 rudeus is written as a teenager.

My opinion on monolouges and cutting them.
First of all I am not of the opinion that you can't cut them and it's fine to do it visual. But thats under one condition, the content needs to be changed and rewritten.
Yes they are different Mediums and thats why you can't just cut

Reminder that just having the pov isnt enough. Manga had the same scenes but it was terrible done. Anime didnt realy manage to nail the monolouges till now and they often cut critical parts. I fear they wont give the scene enough time.
Sometimes visuals just aren't enough
