Today’s recommendation is Futari Escape, written by special guest @belavalladares
A classic girl-meets-girl story, with a well-executed slow burn and lovable characters. I should add that the mature side stories, that take place after the original story and the characters' graduation, are my favorite part and definitely worth checking out.
I love seeing characters grow and evolve, and even grow apart as their differences start showing, and how that look brings so much depth to Aruka and Yukimi’s relationship.
Aruka and Yukimi are a happy couple, but the road to their relationship wasn’t as smooth. This is them telling the story of how they went from inseparable childhood friends, to high school enemies to lovers.
Although it starts with a questionable premise, this manga quickly evolves into a gentler story. Both women are incredibly kind despite their struggles, and their relationship steadily grows more intimate as they help each other take on new challenges.
