ok i think i figured out the problem. i was rly focused on replicating both the color palette AND technique of higgins. but i fucking hate the technique and it was totally ruining the vibe, so instead of cell shading and soft brushing im going back to doing textured markmaking https://t.co/oXl3LBnLTn

going for a certain color palette. not sure how i feel abt it. whenever i take a break from it, i like it, but when i work on it for too long i end up hating it. idk.
