when WG turns 14, shin's mom jokingly asks him if he wants to consider being shin's bodyguard for real (shin is 12 around that time)
WG however takes his role very seriously. he always walks in front of shin, and is very fussy about testing his food for poisin (sounds familiar?)
this would worry WG often and he would run around, searching for the little prince
then, when he would find him, completely out of breath, he would say "shin! you mustn't disappear like that! christine says that it is dangerous outside! what if someone would've kidnapped you?"
as a child, shin was never really aware of his surroundings and went wherever his feet took him; a bit of a dreamer, really. completely lost in his own rich inner world, never aware of the dangers that surrounded him as the nation's only heir
