This summer, we have been working on a new artists’ book full of crepuscular and nocturnal inhabitants called ‘Bracketed by light’. It is because of, and for, six animals we recently fostered and are currently fostering, for their release back into the wild.

Three neighbourhood views. (Gate keepers. Long drive. ‘Free stuff’.)
Three more ‘last on the communal list’ of pets requiring penmanship. Drawn especially (with love) for @rspca_vic’s Poorly Drawn Pets fundraiser.
#PoorlyDrawnPets
A sextet of drawings for @rspca_vic’s annual Poorly Drawn Pets Christmas edition; and a handsome cat sunning themselves in the window, as seen on this morning’s walk.

@subbie @MelCityofLit @birdlife_hoodie So lovely to read your words of light and hope, @subbie. “Each successful fledgling is a small victory for this Victorian sub-species and its ongoing survival.” Thank-you. And thank-you @MelCityofLit. We loved creating this collage.

One was named Pearlie, the second, Sabine, and the third was described as “an aloof leader” and though we can no longer recall her name, we can picture her ears, one alert and listening, the other folded by the wind, and both eyes scanning the horizon.
