THE OTHER became a hit because Tryon was a relentless promoter, but he wasn't just doing talk shows. He also found time to write HARVEST HOME which, alongside "Children of the Corn", is THE great modern American folk horror story.

After reading and re-reading King for a long time, I'd pick these as his most underrated books.
Happy birthday, Alfred Hitchcock.
I'm not sure how many of his anthologies I actually read, but the covers taught me at an early age that something could be funny and scary at the same time.
In 1976, Bernie Wrightson turned in a set of paintings for a limited edition Edgar Allan Poe portfolio and they're pretty amazing.
Today in 1977 news: the greatest King Kong knock-off ever made came smashing out of Hong Kong! THE MIGHTY PEKING MAN (aka GOLIATHON)!
Tomb of Dracula was ok but I went nuts whenever Blade showed up. He was angry about everything! His answer was always: Die!
"Blade, let's talk about - "
"Taste my stake, sucker!"
"But, Blade, we should be allies -"
"Die, vampire!"
"Blade, can you pass me the -"
"Eat wood, vamp!"
You could win FIVE great horror books! Not money, not hamburgers, not anything you could ever possibly use. Books! All those do is make you a target once the robots take over. But still, people are gonna people.
