and it wasnt just me being uncomfortable going from painting to anime, i had drawn many very anime pieces before that looked way better than anything i was able to produce in the comic for YEARS

this is my favorite early concept image because you can see me trying to turn the drawing i did normally (over-rendered guy in the middle) into a comics-ready style and failing

Seriously, the first chapters of ITGR are terrible.

All the info I garnered about anatomy, shading, etc, just fell out of my brain lmao

did you know when i was 10 i drew sparkledogs so much that drawing one now in this exact pose is pure muscle memory
