@shawnelestren No one is advocating face masks to keep the virus away from you. As you say, they aren’t great at that.

Face masks are recommended for keeping -your- aerosolized virus -in-, to protect others. (It travels a much shorter distance when wearing a mask; see photo 1 compared with 2.)

If you haven’t watched BRAZIL, you should. When I was in high school, this film was criminally underrated, but I was convinced it would eventually take over the world.

It hasn’t. But I feel the same about it today as I did then.
