Ight guys so after seeing more comic panels of Archie Sonic's shoes, I'm unsure what the back of his shoes should look like. It's a bit inconsistent.

Are they different looking anywhere else in the comics? If they are, a ref pic is appreciated.

@ClassicLife2055 Not yet, but I do like all the Sonic X shoes and I might model them for fun, they look cool. He even has his own version of Shadow’s shoes.

@Potato_Gob1in Somehow I missed this very important detail when I was modeling it yesterday. No wonder it looks so off. I only got the extrusion pattern, I forgot that the shoe also extends inwards at the center and that the heel has a smooth concave indent (for grinding ig) like the Soap shoes

i just realized i accidentally made him too close to forces’s yucky desaturated baby blue instead of what i was actually going for: the archie color palette

@Cilazark green lights? thats new to me, never seen that before. these are the archie shoes so they don’t have lights.

@SirCSquared Yeah, since I’m giving him the Archie shoes, I’m pushing more for his comic color palette. More green tint in his fur and more yellow tint in the eyes. Trying to move away from the exact same palette they’ve been using for a while.

@Usernamemustbea Honestly I was never a fan of those extremely elongated eyes, it makes him look uncanny and not as expressive

With rounder irises, he can move his eyes around more and it makes him look more lively. I always felt like Sonic was never looking at the camera in Uekawa’s old art.

I’m experimenting with a lot of different things because I don’t want him to be the same old boring Sonic we’ve had forever, so I was thinking of giving him the Archie shoes. Just playing around with different ideas rn to make him feel more fresh. Thoughts on these shoes?
