This piece ended up being much harder to draw than I anticipated. I struggled with style and voice, wanting to push cartoonyness and kid lit aesthetics more, but it contrasts a lot with the mortal danger of the original painting

I wanted to do a painting study for #OurFlagMeansDeath and Jonathan Singletons “Watson and the Shark” came to mind immediately
