Hi! I’m trying to raise $1000 for trans housing org G.L.I.T.S! I will be doing original drawings (5” portraits) for anyone who donates more than $20 to this organization. $50 gets you a full color figure ! DM me with your donation receipt to claim! https://t.co/X9UcmTFmqq
I love Tong's art and Le's dialogue, I love that there are jokes about the adult Green Lanterns being out of touch (Pink Floyd), and I love the guidance and support of a powerful grandmother with secrets she was unable to pass on
I also love how many new kids' books take up questions of gentrification and rezoning in tech-heavy areas and do not mince words about it-- I liked the Ms Marvel arc about this, and Zetta Elliot's Dragons In A Bag (many more).
I am not a huge superhero comic reader, because as a kid these comics seemed too self-serious and full of canon I couldn't memorize. New comics like this Green Lantern keep the underlying ethical questions and artistic vision, but are often refreshingly irreverent
