Hastings Open update: We're continuing with the selection process. So please do continue to drop off works this week
Although we don't know how long we'll be closed we're anticipating having the exhibition when we reopen
Hopefully all artists will have now received an email
Applications for Hastings Open 2020 are now closed. Thank you everyone who has submitted entries and best of luck! Due to a high number of applications, successful applicants of Stage 1 will be contacted the week commencing 2nd March 2020.
Today is apparently #BlueMonday - so to cheer you up here are some photo from c.1950 of 'caves of the very caviest' and some local enjoying nice brew and a natter #Hastings #EastSussex #Caves
We’ve made our first (small) change to the Wunderkammer – you can now see another amazing sketch from the 1790/1800s. We’ve moved the pages in the sketchbook to avoid the light damaging the delicate drawings. #Hastings #HastingsCuriosities
If you're stuck indoors today and would rather not be here's a beautiful #watercolour of #Hastings 'East Cliff and Fishing Boats' by Luke Clennell (c.1813). A lot has changed since then, but you can still see the catch being landed by local fishermen on the same beach today!
Drop into Hastings Museum tomorrow at 10am for our FREE local history coffee morning! This week we'll be looking into the history of the White Rock and America Ground through the archives and objects from the museum's collection.
