I sometimes doubt I can draw at all so I went back to the original sketch and did some rendering without the erosion. These are all on a single layer btw (less the bg which is itself also a single layer). This feels like a big step up from when I used to rely heavily on smudging.

I have no idea what I'm doing ever. a lot of experimenting today...

Kinda playing with a very old concept I had for an OC whose primary tool/weapon was a shield. Thought it'd be kind of neat if it moved organically, but maybe is mechanical in nature?
