When the city arose is a difficult question. The official date is 1471, but the settlement already existed. The city was located in a place called "volok" - this is the place where merchant ships were transferred manually between different river systems.

@puyokuma7 This incidentally is not new. In the 60-70s of the XX century in the DDR, the so-called Pionierpanzerbrigade (tank brigade of young scouts). There were T-34, Su-85 and T-55. The crew consisted of two children, and the tanks had a gasoline engine.
