and i can tell for sure the turning point was this art of her for New Century. Like it's LITERALLY just the toei design in a different artstyle and yet it captures her feel so well and I think they know that too bc this art has been referenced so many times in other media too!!

what do I mean by this?: For a while (mid 00s-mid 10s) I think most non-adventure related digimon media used her bandai design as a point of reference for most things and while it has its own charm, the vibes just aren't the sameeee

time for another angewomon thread🧵 i just think her 1999 toei design is SO peak and iconic i love that so much of the newer art of her went back to following the anime design very closely with little to no changes because she's pretty much already perfect the way she was there🥺
