(2/2) layer over everything else. usually i do this when all of the coloring is complete, including overlays, so nothing looks wonky. i add texture and gently use the watercolor brush over that spot so the edges r not too intense! here r examples + the layer thing

this is one i've had lying around for a WHILE but it's useful so i'll post it: coloring translucent cloth. this also has an example of the previous tip in it!
