This crisp Gold (Ethan) needed no enhancement, as he comes from the 2000 additional set by Ken Sugimori, partly released digitally in a presskit accompanying the Virtual Console release of Pokémon Crystal in 2017. More Crystal art by Sugimori to come in the next weeks!

Along with Celebi, even Mew received a brand new watercolor artwork by Ken Sugimori for Pokémon Crystal in 2000. (Mew scanned and enhanced by us, Celebi comes from the official VC Crystal press kit)

Continuing with the 2000 Crystal set by Ken Sugimori, along with the gen 2 pokemon and characters Horsea and Clefairy also received new art. Why? Who knows. Probably this Horsea was meant as a fix for the double finned one of the 1997 set.
