7.) REMOVED: Another conversation between George and Dio is gone, this time the one where the backstory of Jonathan and Danny's friendship is shared with us through a recounting flashback; done while watching the two play together down below. An interesting note to point out is-

6.) ALTERED: Certain sequences in the JonaEri montage are shortened, the goofy bit with Jojo trying to show off the frog he caught to Erina (and his ensuing reply to her being scared) are removed, as is their little exchange before the carved tree heart is revealed to Erina

-but cannot catch up to them before they run off (there is no physical confrontation), and of course when Jonathan angrily rolls around the grass when shouting Dio's name, he doesn't fall into the river

3.) REMOVED: In the aftermath of Jojo's loss to Dio in their boxing match, Dio's plan to isolate him continues on. We lose Dio's blatant theft of Jonathan's pocket watch in the anime, as well as the physical reminder that Jojo's eye is still healing after the intentional jab

1.) REMOVED: The first pages that introduce the Stone Mask's use through ritualistic sacrifice. For the anime, we're instead welcomed with the Joestar's carriage accident and Dario's interference (which was told to Dio in the manga's prologue by Dario as he gave him the letter)

Took an afternoon to skim the Phantom Blood manga and compile the scenes/panels/pages that either were altered or removed (some of which offered a bit more of Jonathan's personality beyond his noble cause) into somewhat of a lengthy thread because boy, was PB gored & gutted 🥹

also, keep seeing that dio stopped from hurting erina further because he thought back to what dario used to do with his mother? look, i love dio with my heart & soul but he NEVER said that. he only stopped bc a "mere woman" had caused him to react that way.
