On the panel with me is Kallie George, an author, editor, and speaker living on the West Coast. She is the author of 20+ picture books, early readers, and chapter books. FUN FACT: she was my first editor in the biz, when I published Cozy Classics with my brother Jack in 2012!
Join me next Wed at Cottage Bistro on Main Street in Vancouver for "The Flame" -- authors edition -- "true stories told by the people who lived them." I'll give you the 10-minute version of my journey through the world of #kidlit! Come enjoy this evening of storytelling!

Great fun to be at @leefodi’s book launch last night @Kidsbooks_dotca! A big crowd and I got my copy signed for the kids. They’ll be heading to Zoone, soon!
34/47: GEORGE AND THE DRAGON (Chris Wormell) ~ This book has always been a favorite in our family. It’s about a tiny mouse named George and a mighty dragon with a deep, dark secret. Can you guess what it is? Truly wondrous illustrations, but I might like CW’s linocuts even more!
27/47: IF YOU WANT TO SEE A WHALE (Julie Fogliano/Erin E. Stead) ~ This meditative book is about a young boy who learns to avoid distractions to see a whale. Or is it about appreciating the distractions while patiently waiting? You be the judge. Charming text. Gorgeous illos. 🐋
5/47: RUBY’S WISH (@shirinbridges & @SophieBlackall) You can only see it as a slash of red, but it’s in the shot. A wonderful story about a young girl’s wish to go to university. Powerful words and images. My daughter says, in a word, “inspirational.” #kidlit #WeNeedDiverseBooks
